Plan Background
The Rock Springs Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) project is utilizing federal grant funding and input from the community to create a Safety Action Plan focused on improving safety on our community's streets, roadways, and pathways for all users.
The Safety Action Plan will act as a roadmap for safer, more connected streets and pathways by identifying future transportation investments and projects that will benefit all members of the community, no matter their age, ability, or what mode of travel they choose. When complete, the Safety Action Plan will include a prioritized list of safety projects, a refined mobility network, and updated roadway and pathway design standards for the City of Rock Springs.
The Safety Action Plan will include a safety analysis of:
- Severe Crash Events
- Current Roadway Conditions
- Road Users
The project team will utilize this data and future forecasted conditions to develop a plan Rock Springs' entire transportation system. This plan will identify high-priority safety locations and provide recommendations to address the issues. The recommendations will then be prioritized and developed into short-, mid- and long-term projects to create an implementation plan for the area.
